The product

By using the Solarspot skylight system, you can enlighten any room with natural light, extended even to several ten meters long as a result of the light line and the bending elements. Through the application of our product, you can reduce the energy and resource consumption as well as the carbon dioxide emission, allowing the establishment of more energy saving stores, warehouses, office and residential buildings. Our system are available in various diameter types (Ø250 mm, Ø375 mm, Ø530 mm, Ø650 mm, Ø900 mm), which are selected in accordance with the individual capabilities, area and clearance height of the space to be enlightened.

Operating principle

The diffused or direct sunlight coming from each direction of the sky is gathered and forwarded to the walls of the tubular skylight by the RIR optical lens placed in the water-white cupola. The light gathering cupola, the lens placed in it and the walls of the tubular skylight together constitute a so-called optical funnel. Owing to its properties, it will not reflect the long infrared waves, so the heat producing effect of the system is negligible. It does not contain any silver sheet, therefore the stripping or corrosion of the retro-reflective layer is not threatening.

Owing to the RIR and the Vegalux technologies, such an efficient system has been developed through which the greatest possible amount of light can be gathered from the diffuse light in the event of gloomy weather, twilight or evening conditions.

The components of the light router

The transparent light gathering cupola is usually located on the roof, from where an optical device (RIR) guides the light through the super-reflective tubular skylight (Vegalux) to the lighting unit, thus enlightening the actual room.

Cupola

It is the light gathering element of the system which owing to its shape protrudes from the plain roof thus gathers both the direct and diffuse natural light with great efficiency as compared to its small surface area.

RIR® lens

The so-called RIR lens (Rifrazione Interattiva Riflessa) can be found in the interior of the cupola. The RIR® system is a semi-transparent element placed in semicircular arch, as a result of which also the light beams which would not reach the light forwarding passage because of their low entering angle can be forwarded to the pipe system with great efficiency.

Bending elements

It is possible to guide the tubular skylight in various directions by means of the bending elements of rigid wall adjustable between 0 and 90°.

Spotlight unit

In accordance with the aesthetic aspects and other customer demands, circular or cornered spotlight bodies can be selected, with various lens types.

Vegalux tubular skylight

It is made of hardened stable aluminium alloy of maximum flexibility with unique coating, spreading of the multi-layer 3M Daylighting DF2000MA film, calendar finish. According to our experience gained so far, owing to the super-reflectivity the system is able to forward the light even in 20 meters’ length.

Roof fitting element

By means of our standard or individually manufactured receiver structures as well as our roof element made of synthetic rubber, the tubular skylight can be installed for any type of roof covering.

Extra accessories:

Solarspot-Dimmer

You can adjust the light intensity of the Solarspot at pleasure by means of an electrically moved darkening unit within the tubular system, or darken it with a darkening curtain moved manually.

Solar-Luce

Completed with this electric lamp unit, the Solarspot can function during the night as well. In such cases, an electric socket fitted onto a cross-piece will be mounted in the interior of the tubular system in the vicinity of the spotlight unit, in which a bulb of standard casing can be installed.

Solar-Fan

The skylight can be completed with ventilation system as well, which can ventilate the room via the opening placed next to the spotlight unit by means of a separate conduit system equipped with a ventilator.
